Valentine’s Day Special
Impress with one of these...
Love is in the air…however your Valentine’s Day plans shouldn’t be. Here are some (already revealed) secret bars to consider this V-Day:
1. Shady Pines Saloon – Darlinghurst, Sydney
Choose this bar if: He/she likes American Whiskey, free nuts, and a bar literally underground. Get a seat to yourself in the corner and let the sparks fly!
Order: For her – Johnny Appleseed. For him – Knob Creek American Whiskey or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
2. Tokyo Bird – Surry Hills, Sydney
Choose this bar if: He/she likes Japanese Whisky, you enjoy a small cosy setting, you need good share bite size meals, a little louder and more playful ambience…and of course don’t forget the surrounding alley ways (for that first kiss).
Order: For her – a cocktail from menu should do well. For him – whisky flights. Food – definitely order Katsu chicken nuggets.
3. The Barber Shop – Sydney, CBD
Choose this bar if: He/she is a colleague, prefers a fancier quiet setting, want to wow her with the entrance, heading out 5.30/6ish (gets busy after 7pm), you enjoy gin cocktails, and you want to impress your date with the history of secret bars.
Order: For her – Dutch Royal. For him – Silent Barber.
4. Coal & Cedar – Newcastle, CBD
Choose this bar if: She/he lives in the Newcastle region (or you’ve decided to escape your local city), want to impress with the code word secretive bar entry and need to break the ice with a good bartender.
Order: For her – Whisky Sour. For him – Employees Only Manhattan
5. The Wild Rover, Sydney, CBD
Choose this bar if: You’re both on a double date or in a group setting, don’t mind a bit more noise, he/she likes Irish music/drinks, you’re not after a big meal and you both want to let your hair down.
Order: For him – Blazzing Saddles (fire drink in image). For her – Red Bird (if she likes whisky) or another bartender’s recommendation.
So there you have it. That’s my list of secret bars for Valentine’s Day or next date.
Make sure you impress!
Until next time…
